I remember noticing a mountain stream and the fact that where there was turbulence in the water as it bounced and bumped over the stones in the bed then you could not see the stream bed. But where there were calm pools then you could see clearly the bottom and the fish and water plant life.
This is like our mind when it is in turmoil you cannot think and see things clearly all becomes confused and blurred and can lead to misinterpretations of situations. Your performance is stressed and you can make bad judgements or escalate problems. But when you have time out to think or not think just simply be then the clarity of thought returns, many times you can be inspired to make the correct decision for the time and place you are in. It is just a case of making space for you to get the clarity to guide you on.
Ok you say but Marjorie I am too busy.... but then that "busy" maybe because you are creating turmoil instead of clarity. It is amazing how you can play with time lengthen and shorten it.... sometime a 5 mins meditation can refresh you as if you have had a full nights sleep..
Now lets look at breathing this is something as retired midwife was key to my practice... most people will say now take deep breath... but I have learnt with teachers in Ashrams in India the simple physiological logic that the best is to exhale first... to calmly empty the lungs in a long slow breath out with this empty out all the negativity you carry and all the pain.... with pure physics you have created a negative pressure in the lungs and there is a natural flow of air into the lungs to equalise the pressure.. So there is no effort put into the inward breath so it becomes relaxing... If you are in panic attack then to take command over the panic upper chest breathing just do a puff puff blow a couple of short breathes out and then a long breathe till you feel yourself calm.
The tidal flow of the breath now becomes like a wash out of the negative and a influx of new positive clean breath... So our promotional material would be better to say to breath out long slow breath and then let the air flow in. Try it and see the difference. Now lets look at the ingredients of this meditative blend.
The blend consists of organic oils
Vetiver & Sandalwood to help relaxation
Frankincense to deepen breath
Black pepper for a vibrational zing
Orange for a little lift
“There is a relaxing base of vetiver and ethically sourced sandalwood to calm the active mind, the finest frankincense from Oman to deepen the breath – so important for a good meditation – and add focus, and then orange to add a lift. Finally the addition of a drop of black pepper is like a bit of magic that adds a vibrational zing to the whole blend.”- Susan Curtis
